Poem 1

You've loved me six months
Before I came to this world.
You still love me, your special girl.
We have our fights and arguements too.
But that doesnt change how I feel about you.
We laugh and sometimes cry,
'til our stomachs hurt and our sides.
Yes I know we make you mad,
Me, Joel, and don't forget Dad.
Mom, you're crazy and like no other,
kinda like your sister and brother.
Your laugh like a mime, silent and amusing.
The queen bee, always busy and getting things done.
Ickle Lickle Yickle, Jickle.
Yickle Mickle Bickle Frickle.

Poem 2

We are the time. We are the famous by Jorge Luis Borges
We are the time. We are the famous
metaphor from Heraclitus the Obscure.

We are the water, not the hard diamond,
the one that is lost, not the one that stands still.

We are the river and we are that greek
that looks himself into the river. His reflection
changes into the waters of the changing mirror,
into the crystal that changes like the fire.

We are the vain predetermined river,
in his travel to his sea.

The shadows have surrounded him.
Everything said goodbye to us, everything goes away.

Memory does not stamp his own coin.

However, there is something that stays
however, there is something that bemoans.

Poem 3

The Clover Parable by Katherine Foreman
I've been thinking for a while
About schoolyards full of clover
And the man who comes to mow it
Every Thursday afternoon.
He knows that, once he's done it,
He'll have to do it over;
He'll have to mow it down again,
And do it soon.
But the clover doesn't know it--
The clover only blossoms--
All it knows to do
Is what nature had in mind.
It only knows to flower
No matter what besets it
And hope that it is easy
For willing bees to find.
We, too, should be like clover--
Everyone should learn to flower
No matter what besets us
Or ruins our day.
For the sun just keeps on shining
And the man just keeps on mowing
And the clover keeps on growing
In the same old way.

Poem 4

Dancing til Tomorrow - Jonas Brothers
I’m calling you out, calling you out
So you can see what’s going on.
Breaking me down, breaking me down
‘Cause I can see that something’s wrong.
Your body is moving
But your mind is somewhere else
And I don’t know how to get there
It’s like you’re losing yourself(Oh, oh)
No, I never thought it would come this far(Oh, oh!)
Got enough of me to break my heart(Oh, oh)
When the music stops
Promise me that you won't let it go
Just keep dancing until tomorrow
Calling you out, calling you out
‘Cause I can see we’re near the end
Letting me down, letting me down
It’s like we’re back to one again
Your body is moving
But your mind is somewhere else
And I don’t know how to get there
It’s like you’re losing yourself(Oh, oh)
No, I never thought it would come this far(Oh, oh!)
Got enough of me to break my heart(Oh, oh)
When the music stops
Promise me that you won't let it go
Just keep dancing until tomorrow(Oh, oh)
No, we’re not gonna stop when we hit the lights(Oh, oh!)
the rest is wrong, you‘re the one thing right(Oh, oh)
When the music stops
Promise me that you won't let it go
Keep dancing until tomorrow(Oh, oh!)
Yeeeaah(Oh, oh!) Hey! Oh!
Ohhh ohhhh!(Oh, oh)
No, I never thought it would come this far(Oh, oh!)
Got enough of me to break my heart(Oh, oh)
When the music stops
Promise me that you won't let it go
Just keep dancing until tomorrow(Oh, oh)
No, we’re not gonna stop when we hit the lights(Oh, oh!)
When the rest is wrong, you‘re the one thing right(Oh, oh)
When the music stops
Promise me that you won't let it go
Keep dancing until tomorrow(Oh, oh!)
Yeeeaah(Oh, oh!) Hey! Oh!
Ohhh ohhhh!
Oh babyBabyKeep dancing until tomorrow(Oh, oh)
No, we’re not gonna stop when we hit the lights(Oh, oh!)
When the rest is wrong, you‘re the one thing right(Oh, oh)
When the music stops,
Promise me that you won't let it go
Keep dancing until tomorrow

Poem 5

The Hippopotamus by Ogden Nash
Behold the hippopotamus!
We laugh at how he looks to us,
And yet in moments dank and grim,
I wonder how we look to him.

Peace, peace, thou hippopotamus!
We really look all right to us,
As you no doubt delight the eye
Of other hippopotami.

Note the AABB rhyme scheme.

Poem 6

I look around and no one pays attention,
the girl i once knew does not consume my soul any longer.
She's left and went, but heres a hint,
I'm getting stronger everyday.
My life I lived was full of regrets and doubts,
and yet, no one heard me shout.
Now I'm tired of holding it in,
I'm forcing the truth out.
I am a christian, some views are different,
I believe in some things and not others.
Sadly, Its frowned apond by my mother.
I believe love has no gender and no race,
and every sin is the same.
People get judged, for whom they love,
you guessed it, I'm one.

Poem 7

Alone by Praveen
the sound of silence grows,
every minute feels like a hour,
every hour feels like a day,
as i sit in in the cold light of morning;
its far too late, too lateto pick up my heart from the floor,
as it lay in pieces,
right where you threw it yesterday night;
little by little,
strangers became friends,
friends became lovers,
and suddenly, lovers became strangers;
i am lying here,
lying next to where you left me in pieces,
can’t move, can’t scream,
with only silence for company;
the tick tock of the clock and,
the beat of my heart grows louder and louder,
shrouded by a mystery,
i feel so alone;
as the melody of life,
i am here, Alone, in a crowded room!
